Hello? Is anybody there? It's almost two years since our beloved son went to be with the Lord Jesus following an accident at work. He was a tree surgeon. Recently, I have started to feel like crafting a little (well, what I mean is that I made some Christmas cards using recycled elements, which I love to do.) I'll get back to it again, in time, although the craft room has become rather a dumping ground, so first I need to sort that out. So thankful for the support of family and good friends, including those on the Trimcraft forum. Hugs Debbie x

Fizzy Moon Christmas card

I was lucky enough to win some Trimcraft goodies in a recent competition and here's a card I made following a sketch on the Trimcraft forum. Thanks for looking and any comments.

Tragic

Hi everyone,
One of my infrequent postings. My mind is not really here at the mo.
As some of you know, I work in a church office helping make arrangements for services etc. We've had a terrible tragedy in one of our parishes, a two year old boy drowned in pond on the family estate last weekend. It seems he got through the 'secure' fencing somehow and the funeral is on Friday.
It wasn't really touching me, although I felt sick when heard the news, and so sad for his parents, whose wedding I helped to arrange-- until today when a draft order of service came from the funeral director with a photo of him. Gorgeous, little chunky blond boy with a fantastic smile - and a baby sister I think.
It is so hard to understand the ways of God in this!

Almost a year ...

... since I could access this blog. I had given up but then needed to reset my password to sign up for something else and BINGO ... !!

I'm still crafting, in fits and starts. Most often to be found in my favourite online place Trimcraft
http://www.trimcraft.co.uk/forum/index.php

Our church has just started a monthly, midweek church called Messy Church and I volunteered to be the crafts coordinator so life is busy with that at the moment.

Thanks for reading. I hope life is treating you kindly.

Hugs and blessings,
Debbie x

Woohoo, it let me in!!!

I've been trying, from time to time (every few days) to get into this blog but blogger was having none of it. Have now reset the password AGAIN and been able to log in today, but who knows for how long?

Here's one of the two posters I made during the 24/7 prayer week in August. I wasn't involved in creating the display on a noticeboard in the church hall, our curate did that, but my two pics have centre stage - will try to get a photo of that later. Here's a collage - hope you like it.

Thanks for visiting :D

Prayer room photos

Hello :D
I have finally managed to get back into my blog following hassle due to changing over to a Google account.
Not much actual crafting has been going on lately, my good glasses are still with the optician after the transitions coating started to peel off in only 3 months! So I can't really do very much close work or computer monitor time.
Have been spending some more time in the prayer room before it is dismantled at the weekend. I know one or two of you are interested to see it, so here are a few pics. Might take some more today when I go in as this doesn't really do it justice. These were taken at the beginning of the week and there has been more added since I last took the camera along. I'll be sorry to see it go and hope we can do it again.
Thanks for looking.

Making backgrounds

Hi, thanks for calling by. Really sorry about the very long silence. No excuse really, I just haven't got into the habit of posting here regularly yet.

Last week was a busy one at church. We had a week of continuous round the clock prayer called 24/7, taking shifts of an hour or more at a time in a specially set up prayer room in one of our church buildings. The atmosphere in that room was amazing, you felt soaked in prayer as soon as you went in and speaking to God about what was on our hearts seemed a lot easier than at home with all the distractions around. If you want to find out more, visit http://www.24-7prayer.com/
Sorry, I can't get the links to work today.

There's a challenge running on Trimcraft at the moment to make a card without using designer backing papers. www.trimcraft.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=25859 I tried something new. As I was cutting a dead bloom off the lily I had for my birthday, I wondered if I could use the stamens (the bit in the middle that dyes everything it touches orange). Bundled them up in my fingers and made circular movements on cardstock for a random effect, then polished with a tissue and fixed with hairspray before later making into a card. What do you think?
